Questions
What if my dog is not ready for off leash?
That is fine. The standard group hikes on leash or a long line, with up to 3 dogs. Daniel sorts dogs at the meet and greet so nobody is put in a group that does not fit.
What if my dog is reactive or anxious?
Tell us on the form. Daniel has worked with high energy, reactive, senior and anxious dogs. He meets your dog first and will be honest about which group fits, or whether a group is the right setup at all.
What trails do you go on?
Bonneville Shoreline, Millcreek Canyon, Mount Olympus, Butterfield Canyon and extended Wasatch routes. The trail depends on the group, the dogs and the weather.
What time of day do the hikes happen?
In summer we start early to avoid the heat. In fall and winter the timing is flexible. You tell us your preferred days and time window on the form.
What about heat and weather?
Summer outings start early, and every outing includes portable water bowls. Daniel adjusts routes and timing for heat and conditions.
Is Wilder insured?
Yes. Daniel carries pet sitting insurance.
What happens at the meet and greet?
It is free and takes about 15 minutes, at a neutral public spot near you or in the Sugarhouse area. Daniel meets your dog, checks temperament, picks the best group and answers your questions. Rabies vaccination proof is required before the first outing, and DHPP and bordetella are strongly recommended. You send proof after the meet and greet, not on the form.
